First Pubs in Print

Check it out!

I'm grateful to announce my first 2 publications in print are out now. The June edition of Whole Life Times (Common Ground in the bay area) includes my essay "Breathing Room" about a mom searching for a sense of space, and the events that unfold when two boys are unsupervised for 5 minutes. You can read it here: http://wholelifetimes.com/2008/06/lue0806.html

And my piece "Real life snapped between all the Kodak moments" talks about the different perspectives of my family's photographers, and the moments that get captured when children are behind the camera. It is featured today in the "How it is" column of the Marin IJ newpaper: http://www.marinij.com/lifestyles/ci_9606904

Thanks to everyone for all your good thoughts and support, I couldn't have done it without you!

Love, Kristy

Two nice pieces.

How I remember having moments like that when my two boys were younger.
I do have that coveted room of my own (otherwise known as Mom's office), but now that the boys are 14 and 10, I just want my own stuff. I want all four of their hands off my computer (supposedly off limits); I want my own digital camera instead of sharing w/my Kodak moment husband and arty photographer-in-training 10 year old; I want a cell phone that takes photos like my teenager has; and I want wireless headphones in the car like the kids have for watching DVDs on long trips...well, maybe that wouldn't work while driving, but still.

Congrats on the two articles. I'm sure there will be more to come.
